Sheffield Makes Music Mash Up Stage
@ Yellow Bus – Fargate

For the whole day we have the Yellow Bus on Fargate with a stage to host a glorious mash up of Sheffield music makers – pull up a deckchair and enjoy!

Sheffield Philharmonic Chorus

Usually found singing alongside the Hallé Orchestra, The BBC Philharmonic and The Northern Sinfonia Sheffield’s premiere mixed voice choir will set us up for the day with  a free performance to inspire and amaze.

Ensemble 360

Violinists Benjamin Nabarro and Claudia Ajmone-Marsan regularly perform as part of Music in the Round’s resident group Ensemble 360. For Sheffield Makes Music, they will play short, fun duos by Bartók based on folk music, songs and dances from Eastern Europe.
Please note other locations too.

Opera on Location

Gareth Lloyd and Andrea Tweedale once again treat us to arias and songs from the pantheon of great opera in their repertoire. Please note this event has moved from the Town Hall steps due to popular demand! An unmissable break from the daily grind.
Expect to join in.

An alt-pop format fronted by Leonie Sloots, a Netherlands-born, Sheffield-based songwriter playing melodic, ambient indie based on the emotional rollercoaster that is life.

2.30 – 3pm

Before Breakfast

Strong melodies with piano, cello and vocal harmonies create an authentic and accomplished sound. Before Breakfast have a strong sense of meaning, telling intimate stories about being a woman that resonate with people of all stages of life.

3.30 – 4pm

Guest Singer

dark party songs; anti-motivational anthems for the post-truth generation. Expect moments of incredible grandeur while steering romance through a landscape of dusky synth lines and jumpy guitars.

4.15 – 4.45pm

Tsarzi is the solo project of multi-instrumentalist Sarah Sharp. Eccentric pop laced with dark humour. Uniquely unpredictable and thoroughly brilliant.

5.15 – 6.15pm

Langsett Dance Orchestra

Bigband jazz and swing from the Langsett Dance Orchestra. Playing bigband arrangements of modern classics and vintage dance-band classics.

6.30 – 7pm

Reverend & The Zongo Makers!

A one off ‘supergroup’ of sorts formed especially to celebrate Sheffield Makes Music. Reverend & The Makers’ Jon and Ed are joined by Kweko of K.O.G. & The Zongo Brigade to create a wonderful Sheffield/Ghanian fusion; the soundtrack at the heart of our Sanctuary City.
